Amir AMJN Leads Delegation to Visit the Governor of Cross River State

Governor Bassey Otu Commends Ahmadiyya’s Strides in Education and Humanitarian Services The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, during his official visit to Cross River State, paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, at the Government House, Calabar. In his remarks, the respected Amir Sahib commended Governor Otu for his visionary leadership and the impactful implementation of his People’s First Agenda, which has positively touched every facet of governance in the state. He lauded the Governor for his inclusive approach and the support extended to the Muslim community in Cross River, which has continued to enhance peaceful coexistence among residents of diverse faiths. The Amir also appreciated the Governor for appointing Alhaji Imam Kabir Olowolayemo into his administration, describing the appointment as a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to fairness, and inclusivity. Earlier in his remarks, His Royal Highness, the Ejeh of Ankpa, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sadiq Yakub II appreciated the Governor for his support of the Muslim Community in the State. He said Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s motto ‘Love For All Hatred None’ resonated in all their undertakings everywhere they are. He thereafter confered ‘Serikin Hujaj’ on the Governor to appreciate his support to the Muslim community in the State. Governor Otu, in his response, warmly welcomed the respected Amir sahib and his entourage to Cross River State. He commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its remarkable contributions to education, healthcare, and humanitarian services across Nigeria. The Governor noted that the community’s long-standing record of selfless service aligns with his administration’s vision of building a prosperous and people-centered state. He further assured the respected Amir sahib of his continued support for religious harmony and collaboration in promoting moral and social development among the citizens. Obong Declares Calabar as Home to Ahmadiyya The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alhaji (Barrister) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez on Thursday 16th October, 2025 paid a courtesy call on the Obong of Calabar, His Eminence Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V at his Palace in Calabar, Cross River State. In his remarks, the Amir said he is in Calabar to express the Jamaat profound appreciation to the King for his love for the Jamaat and commended the Obong for his exemplary leadership, describing him as a revered traditional ruler who continues to lead with the fear of God, commitment to service, and promotion of peaceful coexistence among adherents of different faiths. He expressed profound gratitude for the consistent support the Obong and the Palace has extended to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for many decades in Calabar and beyond. Alhaji Alatoye emphasized that Islam stands for peace, compassion, and justice, adding that any form of extremism or violence does not represent the true teachings of Islam. He further highlighted the global efforts of the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah be his Helper), who continues to engage world leaders in advocating peace and promoting understanding among nations. Responding, the Obong warmly welcomed the Amir and his entourage to the ancient city of Calabar. Late President Buhari, a gallant Soldier and statesman served our dear Nation in different capacities as a Military Governor, Head of State, and two term President. He will be remembered for his towering commitment to duty with significant infrastructure projects, including major rail lines, highways, airport overhaul, and various initiatives to combat graft and promote transparency. Sharing Eid: HFN Brings Celebration to Over 3,000 Nigerian Families

Eid al-Adha is a time of joy, sacrifice, and sharing—but for many vulnerable families across Nigeria, celebrating can be a challenge. This year, Humanity First Nigeria (HFN), with the generous support of Humanity First Canada, ensured that thousands of families were not left behind. Recognizing the importance of inclusion during festive periods, HFN set aside special funds to support those in difficult circumstances. The organization’s Disaster Relief and Programs Team mobilized swiftly, identifying communities across the country where people were most in need. From Mokwa to Maiduguri, Kano, Azare, and Abuja, HFN volunteers went door-to-door, distributing meat and essential food items. Their mission was simple: to restore a sense of dignity and celebration to families facing hardship. The outreach didn’t stop in the north. In the southwest, residents in Abeokuta, Ikorodu, Meiran, and Akinyele-Ibadan also received support. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that no one was left out, embodying the spirit of Eid by giving selflessly and uplifting others. In total, 9 cows and 8 sheep were sacrificed as part of this year’s initiative. The meat was distributed to over 3,235 individuals, helping them share in the blessings of the season despite their difficult circumstances. Speaking on the impact of the effort, Abdul-Qadir Abdul-Rafi, head of the Disaster Relief and Programs Team, noted: “Eid is about compassion and community. Our goal was to bring that spirit to people who may otherwise have gone unnoticed. We are grateful to Humanity First Canada for making this possible.” Many of the beneficiaries appreciated the efforts of Humanity first and prayed for the donors saying that the meat distributed would go a long way in providing the needed support during Eid Humanity First Nigeria continues to champion humanitarian interventions that provide dignity, hope, and support to those who need it most—during Eid and beyond.

Amir sahib, Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, led a delegation to attend the Janazah of Alhaja Falilat Anike Oriyomi Salako, the mother of the Honorable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaq Salako. In his remarks, Amir sahib expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Minister and his family, acknowledging the late Alhaja Falilat as a devoted follower of the Imam of the Age. He highlighted the significance of her passing in the holy month of Ramadan, describing it as a divine blessing and a testament to a life well spent. Dr. Isiaq Salako, in his address, thanked Allah for the timing of his mother’s passing, stating that he could not have wished for a better moment than during the sacred month of Ramadan. He shared that it had been one of his prayers, as it would serve as a spiritual reminder for him, particularly as a government official, to remain steadfast in the teachings and practices of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). HUMANITY FIRST NIGERIA DISTRIBUTES 29,000 MEALS IN MAIDUGURI

In a bid to support Muslim Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in El-Miskin Camp, Jere Local Government Area, Maiduguri Metropolis, Borno State, North-East Nigeria, Humanity First, in collaboration with Humanity First Germany and Canada, has provided over 29,000 meals to the IDPs. The program was designed to assist Muslim faithfuls observing their fasts during the month of Ramadan under challenging circumstances. The Camp Chairman, Muhammad Hashim, expressed appreciation for Humanity First Nigeria’s efforts, noting that the camp houses over 7,000 individuals from more than 1,500 families, divided across 21 districts. One of the camp residents, Bukar Bulama, shared that he fled Mungonu LGA over eight years ago due to insurgency. Despite his desire to return home and resume farming, the area remains insecure. He noted that life in the camp became even more difficult last year when it was hit by devastating floods. “I am grateful to Humanity First for providing Iftar meals during Ramadan. It has been a great relief to us. However, we still face challenges, especially with accessing clean water,” Bukar appealed. His sentiments were echoed by other camp residents who also appreciated the continued support of Humanity First.Speaking on behalf of Humanity First Nigeria, Mr. Abdul-Qadir, the Team Lead Disaster Relief and program, stated that the provision of food to victims of floods and terrorism in El-Miskin Camp aligns with the organization’s culture of prioritizing human welfare, regardless of ethnic or religious background. He further explained that the current meal distribution is the second phase of efforts to support the victims in Maiduguri, with the first phase conducted in September 2024, immediately after the flood disaster. “Humanity First has been supporting victims of disasters all over the world, and this year we are proudly celebrating 30 years of serving mankind,” Mr. AbdulQadir added. REPORT OF THE COMMISSIONING OF IJOKO ONIGARI BOREHOLE SPONSORED BY THE HUMANITY FIRST NIGERIA ON SUNDAY 5/1/25

The remote village of Ijoko Onigari, a quiet suburb of Owode Egba under the Mowe Ibafo Circuit witnessed a tumultuous crowd on Sunday, 5th of January 2025. The day marked the commissioning of the borehole sunk by the Humanity first Nigeria, being the first of its type in that remote village. Prior to arriving at the Ijoko Onigari, the Amir’s entourage had a stopover at the Mokoloki mosque at No 21 Apena road, Mokoloki town, Owode Egba Local Government Council of Ogun State. The mosque was still under construction. It was a donor who tiled the mosque and another donor completed the roofing. The Mission house which was at the back of the Mosque was slightly above the foundation. The Amir Sahib prayed for the Jamaat members and encouraged them to be more strategic when planning a mosque. He directed the Secretary Jaidad to visit the project and to give a cost estimate for finishing the Mosque. The road to Ijoko Onigari was bumpy, dusty and undulating as it was untarred. At Ijoko Onigari, the program kick started with recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Mubaarak. He welcomed the participants and described the borehole as a testament to the power of collective efforts in transforming lives and viewed the project as meaningful for the most vulnerable members of the Ijoko community who had long borne the burden of water scarcity. He mentioned the schools and clinic in some parts of the country funded by the Humanity First of Canada. The Humanity First Chairman, Dr Habeeb Yaqeen was represented by the Humanity First Secretary, Alhaji Dauda Raji. He gave the history of the borehole that it was the around February/March 2024, the Amir sahib that directed the borehole should be sited in the remote village and when they came for inspection, they discovered it was a perfect location for the borehole project. The available water for the villagers was a flowing river that was very far and people would have to climb from the river before getting to the village. That they utilized internally generated funds for the project. The project was started in November 2024 and was delivered at the cost of Two Million Six Hundred Thousand Naira. It was a borehole of 80-85 meter depth. He charged the villagers to maintain the borehole as Humanity First would not be involved in maintenance. The Village head of Ijoko Onigari appreciated the location of the project. He said he had a dream before which he told his wife that people would be coming to fetch water in front of the village and it has come to be fulfilled. He described the borehole as a bigrelief and narrated the stress the villagers used to go through to fetch water. Seven surrounding villages are beneficiaries of the project. OGUN DEPUTY GOVERNOR APPLAUDS AHMADIYYA COMMUNITY

The Deputy Governor of Ogun State Alh. (Engr.) Noimot Oyedele – Salako has eulogized the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at for her giant strides in the promotion of peaceful coexistence among the human race. This she said has made the fold to be a leader in the propagation of the real tenet of Islam. The Deputy Governor made this known while playing host to the leadership of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at during a courtesy visit. Engr. Noimot recalled how she got a gift of Islamic literature from the Jama’at as a Form 1 student, in her secondary school days. She also mentioned to the delight of her guests her participation in one of the International Conference (Jalsa Salana) in London, United Kingdom. Oyedele while stressing on the need for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at members to always be good ambassadors of Islam and promote the message of love the fold is well known for, recounted the true brotherhood gesture she enjoys from some of her friends in the Jama’at. She specifically referred to Jama’at elders like Alhaji & Alhaja Sunmonu and Dr. Nurudeen Akindele as her models and mentors. While reacting to the speech of the Amir, the Deputy Governor highlighted various plans and programs of the present administration to add a resounding facelift to the socio-economic status of the State, an improvement on the state of security, advancement in educational standard and also infrastructural development. The Deputy Governor stressed that the request from the Amir for the reconstruction of Papalanto/Ilaro road and completion of ongoing Owode/Ilaro road has been identified by the administration. She affirmed that the government of Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun has perfected plans to use the Executive Order earlier signed to facilitate the Papalanto/Ilaro road through Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The Deputy Governor then promised to use her office to facilitate a familiarization meeting with the Governor as requested by the Amir. On the invitation to the Annual Conference of the Jama’at holding at Ilaro on 21st through 22nd December, the Deputy Governor promised her guests to be part of the spiritual exercise. Earlier in his address, the Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alh. (Barrister) Abdul-Azeez Folorunso Alatoye congratulated the Governor and the Deputy on their victory at the poll and charged them to make Almighty Allah their guard in the administration of the Gateway State. AHMADIYYA NATIONAL HEAD VISITS ABEOKUTA, COMMISSIONS NEW MOSQUE

The National Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria Barrister Alatoye Folorunso Azeez recently embarked on a working visit to the Abeokuta Branch to address members, inspect ongoing projects and commission a new mosque built and donated by Alhaja Rahmatallah Okunola ( Kudoro) nee Afonja.Amir and his entourage were received by the Branch Executives led by the Branch President, Dr. Nasirudeen Bello at a location near the State Government Secretariat. The Amir was taken to Idi Aba to see a Mosque under construction. The land was donated to the Jama’at as far back as 1986 and the Ogungbade family single handedly started developing the mosque which has reached window level. Another well-wisher of the Jama’at sunk the well on the land. The land became disputed when some members of the family who sold the land fenced the land including our mosque and lay claim to the land. The case Barr. Alatoye enjoined members to ensure Jamaat’s lands are not lost and gave them guidelines on how to protect the land/mosque.The team was later taken to Oke Oliye mosque that has been under construction for 25 years. The mosque had been roofed but still required funds to reach completion. The Branch President mentioned that 15 Jama’ats and all auxiliary bodies had participated in the construction of the mosque with assistance from the headquarters. COMMISSIONING OF NEW MOSQUE AT SOYOYE A new mosque of about 60 sitting capacity built and donated by Alhaja Rahmatallah Okunola (Kudoro) Nee Afonja was commissioned by the Amir. The donor joined the Jama’at while in secondary school and got married in 1986. She had done a lot of donations in the past and the latest was the new mosque commissioned. The donor, Alhaja Rahmatallah gave a small speech and narrated what led to the building of the mosque. She was from Ansarudeen family as her father was the Baba Adinni of their mosque then. She had been attending the Annual Conference (Jalsa Salana) of the Jama’at since the days at Surulere and later at Ojokoro. She went to Hajj and had the intention that if Allah granted all her prayers, she would donate a mosque in appreciation. She said all the prayers were subsequently answered and she had to donate the Mosque. The donor of the Mosque, Alhaja Rahmatallah Okunola (Kudoro) make a speech during the commissioning of the Mosque at Idi-Aba, Abeokuta Ogun State. Her elder brother, Engineer Afonja gave a speech on how they came across Ahmadiyya way back in 1964 when they were at Egbado College. The Muslim students were going to the town to offer their Juma’at prayers until late Pa Salman of Ilaro Jama’at volunteered to be leading them in Juma’at prayers inside the college and that was how they became Ahmadis. Ever since then, they have remained with the Jama’at. He, on behalf of the sister, Mrs Rahmatallah, handed over the documents of the mosque to the Amir Sahib. The Amir gave a lecture on the immense spiritual and moral blessings of Masjid (mosque) and emphasised that mosque was for Allah. He narrated his Hajj experience in 2005 and how a Christian was introduced to him who had been performing Hajj for about 5 times, despite being a Christian. The Christian confirmed that Hajj is a place where prayers are accepted. He encouraged members to build functional mosques which could be started and completed on time. He gave further instances of how prayers were accepted by Allah and wanted Quranic learning, Tabligh activities to be carried on in the mosque apart from the regular SolatHe later commissioned the Mosque at about 2.00 p.m. and also led Solat Zuhr after the commissioning.Closing prayer was offered.
