Osun Governor Commends Ahmadiyya humanitarian Services

…sets to commission Minaret International University, Ikirun The Osun State Governor, Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has applauded numerous humanitarian services from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria over the years, as a proposed Minaret International University (MIU) is set to begin operation in Ikirun, Osun State. It should be noted that the proposed university is only waiting for the approval of the National University Commission (NUC). Adeleke noted that these humanitarian services had been a signature of peaceful Islamic propagation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Globally. The leadership of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria had paid a courtesy visit to the governor to brief him on the progress of the University, which has been on the drawing board since 2017. The Amir, Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, was accompanied by the Missionary in charge, Maulvi Adnan Tahir, the Naib Amir Finance and Admin, Alhaji Mufadhil Bankole, the Vice Chancellor designate, Professor Abdullah Abdur Rahman, the immediate Former Amir, Professor Mashhud Adenrele Fashola and other management members of the Jamaat. He appreciated the governor for all his support for the university especially the grant of Akinorun Grammar School, Ikirun, for the take-off of the university. Alatoye informed the governor that the Minaret International University was approved by the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and it was the first of its kind in the world. He invited the governor to commission the University whenever it is ready for the commissioning. He also invited him to grace the 70th annual Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) at Ilaro and the worldwide convention to be held in the United Kingdom later in the year. He mentioned the difference between the Minaret International University and others as a university that has deep moral contents and with international dimension. The Amir requested the assistance of the governor in the construction of a circular road at the mini-site of the university. He also appealed for the approval of a Deed of Release for the portion of the mini-site. He gave the reason why the university intends to start from the mini-site since the main campus would gulp a huge amount running into several billions of Naira. The Amir prayed passionately for the Governor and members of his cabinet as well as for the peace of the State. He later presented volumes of Jama’at’s literature to the governor. In his response to the message by the Amir and Pro-Chancellor of the Minaret International University, Adeleke described Osun State as a state that loves education. According to him, “ there are quite numbers of tertiary institutions belonging to the federal, state and private individuals in the state and that the Government of Osun State is ready to give the necessary support to any proprietor wishing to establish educational institutions”. He directed the Commissioner of Education to attend to all the requests. The permanent campus of the university is located beside Federal Government College, Ikirun

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community holds UK Islamic Conference

The 2022 annual Islamic Conference (Jalsa Salana) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, UK, holds on 5th to 7th August in Islamabad, Alton, UK. Due to COVID-19 constraints, the event is not open to external guests across the world, except for selected leaders of the Ahmadiyya Community and those residents in the UK. The Amir (National Head), Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, Barrister Alatoye  Azeez Folorunso is among the special dignitaries attending the conference in London. However, members of the public are welcomed to join live proceedings of the programme which can be watched at various homes and Ahmadiyya mosques across the world via the Community’s satellite television channel, the Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, (MTA International) Also, Murhi International Television, MITV, and Gaskiya Cable TV will join other 20 television channels across Africa to broadcast the Islamic Conference live for three days. According to the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah (as), the primary purpose of the Islamic Convention, which commenced since 1891 in Qadian, India, but now spread across the world, is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits, enhance their knowledge, promote mutual understanding and strengthen fraternal ties within the Islamic  Community. He said the gathering is not an ordinary human assembly, but a phenomenon that is based purely on the Divine Help for the propagation of Islam, translating to an affirmative action the declaration contains in Quran chapter 4 verse 115 that, “There is no good in many of their conferences except the conferences of such as enjoin charity, or goodness, or the making of peace among men. And whoso does that, seeking the pleasure of Allah, We shall soon bestow on him a great reward.” The high points of the gathering are addresses to be delivered by the  Supreme World Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Hazrat Masr r Ahmad, khalifatul Masih, V, goodwill messages from world leaders, prominent scholars, and very important guests for three days, and the global acceptance of new members and renewal of commitment to Islam and e Ahmadiyya community – “the Global Bai’at”, a tradition noted in Islam – that will be performed by His Holiness on Sunday. Other soul-inspiring topical issues in Islam and the global progress report of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will also feature during the conference.
