Amir Ahmadiyya Nigeria Pays Courtesy Visit to Lagos Governor’s Advisory Council Chairman, Prince Dr. Tajudeen Olusi

The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, today paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Prince (Dr.) Tajudeen Olusi, MON, OON at his Lagos residence.

The visit formed part of the Jama’at’s continued efforts in propagating the peaceful teachings of Islam and fostering strong community relations.

In his remarks, the Respected Amir Sahib expressed gratitude for the warm reception by Prince (Dr.) Olusi. He emphasized that Islam, as consistently preached by the Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community worldwide, is a religion of peace, tolerance, and social justice. He reiterated that the Jama’at strongly rejects violence against persons or government, referencing the numerous addresses of Worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to Parliaments and world leaders across the globe.

The Amir Sahib also used the occasion to extend a formal invitation to Prince Dr. Olusi to attend the 2025 Jalsa Salana Nigeria, scheduled to hold from 19th – 21st December 2025.

In his response, Prince Dr. Tajudeen Olusi described himself as someone with a long acquittances with the Jama’at. He fondly recalled how in the early 1930s, Maulvi Ahmad, a former Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and then a teacher at Ansarudeen College, Isolo profoundly shaped his understanding of Islamic principles, which have since guided his life.

Prince Dr. Olusi expressed appreciation for the Jama’at’s literature presented to him during the visit and, in reciprocity, gifted the Jama’at copies of the Holy Qur’an and some of his authored books.

The Respected Amir Sahib was accompanied on the visit by the Former Amir and Secretary Umur Kharijiyya, Professor Mas’hud Adenrele Fashola sahib; the General Secretary of the Jama’at, Alhaji AbdulJabar Ayelagbe; Officer Jalsa Salana, Engr. Kazeem Oluwa; Alhaji Lakunle-Bello; Alhaj AbdulWaheed Adamson; Circuit Presidents of Lagos Island and Alhaj AbdulHakeem Abdulquadri; Ibeju-Lekki Circuit President, Mukarram Nurudeen Jubril; Circuit Missionary of Lagos Island, AGS Special duties and Protocols and other members of the Jama’at.
