The Ubiquity of Hypocrisy

0

The world of men is filled with men of words
Words of saints they speak
Speak to them and see if you will not feel like a sinner
Sinner first in your own eyes and then to humankind

Humankind has mastered the art of deceit
Deceit through righteousness in the eyes of all
All pretending to one another, masking their true self
Selfless to a select few and selfish to many more

More and more, the fabric of hypocrisy is widely worn
Worn by those you least expect and those you truly respect
Respect is a currency of insincerity, spent with caution as though it will finish from regular use
Use people before they use you and make you useless

Uselessly, we hanker after paltry gains that we will leave behind
Behind to those who have no idea of how we laboured for the riches
The riches we earned by mastery of impunity
Impunity hinged by hypocrisy
Hypocrisy girded by dishonesty
Dishonesty fueled by small-mindedness

Small minds lie
Lie – the craft they think will make them fly high
High in the eyes of men but low in God’s presence
The presence that makes all else immaterial
Immaterial to all those you lied to, lied for, lied about and to you

You are righteous to people in your faith
Faithful only to your friends
Friendly only to those from whom you seek benefits
Benefitting from being ruthless to others
Others of different skin, ethnicity, religion, gender, status, and education

Education should cure you of hypocrisy because
Hypocrisy is from within where education makes the transformation
The transformation that tells you life is a transition
Transition in space and time
Time to meet and part, time to exist and extinct, time to be and be no more
More to life there’s than just a transactional exchange
The exchange you must! Your house with a coffin or graveyard, your time with eternity, your companions with loneliness…

Loneliness will be the lot of the hypocrite
The hypocrite who smiles from a mile
Whose words of praise have become trite
But whose heart is filled with bile
If you don’t know any hypocrite
It’s probably you don’t know yourself
Be free of hypocrisy
Avoid it as you would leprosy
The hypocrite never finds favour with God and men
Don’t serve me hypocrisy… it’s dirty and creepy!

NEW AMIR SOLICITS TEAMWORK, SINCERE DEDICATION

0

The new Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria Alhaji AbdulAzeez Folorunso Alatoye has called for unalloyed teamwork, rededication and overwhelming support of the National Executive officers and members of the Muslim organization in an effort to achieve a successful and hitch free administration.

Alhaji Alatoye who resumes office on Monday 1st July 2019 made the call at the handing over ceremony held at the National Headquarters of the organization in Ojokoro, Lagos.

It would be recalled that the Supreme Head of Ahmadiyya Community worldwide appointed Barrister Alatoye after the last shoora to succeed Dr. Mashhud Adenrele Fashola who had been at the helms of affairs for 15years.

General Secretary Ahmadiyya Nigeria, Alhaji Abbas Iromini; Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama ‘at Nigeria, Dr. Mashhud Adenrele and Missionary-in-Charge, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Murabbi Afzaal Ahmad Rauf, during the Amila meeting, at Ahmadiyya Headquarters Ojokoro, Lagos on Saturday 2019.

In his speech, the new Amir who is a lawyer and tax consultant by profession opined that his administration will consolidate on the achievements and legacies of the immediate past regime and improved on them. This, he said, can only be achieved through total commitment and cooperation of all members.

He thanked the former Amir for giving him the opportunity to have served in the capacity of Naib Amir (Deputy Head) for years and believed the system and administration of the organization is a continuum.

The Amir, therefore, urged the incoming national executive members to be ready for the enormous task ahead.

According to him, “ I have to commend Dr. Fashola for successfully steering the ship of the Ahmadiyya community in Nigeria for 15years. I have known him to be a strong individual and a spiritual person who is also energetic. The Jamaat is always proud of him in all respect. No doubt, the position of the Amir is an enormous task. The head can only succeed with the collective support of everyone. The system of the organization is a continuity,” he concluded.

He noted that “ mindset is how do we improve on what we are doing now. If you pick any concept, there would be many approaches to that concept. We need to reposition ourselves. I will also request that we reduce arguments on issues and most importantly, refer ambiguous issues to the spiritual Head of the Ahmadiyya community and His Holiness for guidance and clarification. We must implement all the instructions of Huzur Aqdas (May Allah be his Helper), the Amir counseled.

In his speech, Dr. Fashola said the Muslim organization was in safe hands with the new Amir and promised to give his full support for a successful regime. ” Alhaji Alatoye is a blessed person by all standards. He is a man of discipline, a man of God and a prayer warrior. He has all the qualities and attributes of a good leader. I will give him all the support needed because he also supported me a lot,” he said.

SHOCKING REVELATION ABOUT VITAMINS AND MINERALS DEFICIENCY

0

According to UNICEF’s Global Damage Assessment Report, one-third of the world’s population suffer from vitamins and minerals deficiencies leading to debilitating bodies, minds, energies, and economic prospects of nations. In fact, UNICEF’s Executive Director, Carol Bellamy, warned that:

“It is no longer a question of treating severe deficiency in individuals. It is a question of reaching out to whole populations to protect them against the devastating consequences of even moderate forms of vitamin and mineral deficiency.”

What the above means for the world is the impairment of millions of growing young minds and dangerous reduction in national IQs.

If you thought vitamin and mineral deficiencies were a thing of the past, think again. Here are some statistics that you may be very shocked to learn:

  • * Over 250,000 children are born annually with birth defects associated with vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
  • * More than 50,000 women die every year during childbirth due to a deficiency of some sort.
  • * It’s estimated that 10-15% of people over 60 years of age don’t get enough vitamin B12, which raises their risk of heart disease, makes them bleed easily and causes difficulty walking.
  • * 40-60% of children ages 6-24 months in developing countries don’t get enough iron, which impairs them mentally.
  • * Approximately 1 million children under the age of 5 die every year because they don’t have enough vitamin A in their system.

Surprised? A lot of people are.

It’s easy to believe that deficiencies were something that happened long ago when food wasn’t as prevalent as it is now. People would have only what they harvested or hunted right then. They didn’t have the ability to process foods and make them last as we can today. That often meant that their diets didn’t contain a wide variety of food so certain vitamins and minerals would, of course, be missing. But, today there’s food on almost every corner, so how is it that we’re deficient in anything?

Well, deficiencies go beyond just the foods you eat. There are certain behaviors or conditions that can put you at risk for not absorbing enough vitamins and minerals. Here are just a few:

  1. If you smoke, you have a higher risk of developing a vitamin C deficiency.
  2. If you are pregnant and not taking prenatal vitamins, you have an increased risk of a folate deficiency.
  3. If you’re an alcoholic or drink a lot regularly, you risk being deficient in folate, vitamin C and vitamin A.
  4. If you take anti-seizure medications or are being treated for cancer, you may not have enough folate.
  5. If you have a disease related to your intestinal tractor take a lot of antacids, you have a higher likelihood of being deficient in vitamin B12.
  6. And, if you take medications for type 2 diabetes or have an autoimmune disorder, you may also lack the necessary amount of vitamin B12.

The list goes on and on. Some people even develop deficiencies in the name of health! For example, some diets promote excessively limiting or even eliminating whole groups of food to help you lose weight. The cabbage soup diet is one of them.

That’s where you can eat nothing but cabbage soup all day, every day. While most people aren’t on those types of eating plans for any length of time, if it’s a way of eating you consistently go back to, you may be increasing your odds of developing a deficiency.

Probably one of the most common ways of eating that eliminates certain food groups is vegetarianism. In the name of health, spiritual belief or animal rights, vegetarians vow to not eat certain things.

There are several diverse types of vegetarians. For instance, a vegan is someone who doesn’t eat any kind of food that used animal products as an ingredient or even in the processing phase. They don’t eat eggs, dairy or honey.

If someone is a lacto-ovo-vegetarian, that means that they don’t eat meat or shellfish, but they do eat eggs and dairy; that’s the general vegetarianism. Pescatarians don’t eat meat like lamb or pork, but they will eat fish.

While each form of eating has certain health benefits, they also have higher risks of deficiencies because they’re cutting out categories of food that are high in vitamins and minerals.

Red meat has a high amount of iron, zinc and riboflavin. So, if you remove these foods from your diet, you risk not getting enough of these important minerals in your body. Milk and dairy products are extremely high in calcium and vitamin D. Cut those out, and you must find other ways for your body to get it.

The point is that you could be doing things that are putting you at risk and not even realize it. And, if you think that because you’re taking a multivitamin you aren’t at risk, you’re sadly mistaken.

Unfortunately, your body doesn’t always process the multivitamins well enough to get everything out of them and use it. For example, if you take them on an empty stomach, your body will absorb fewer of the great vitamins and minerals they contain than if you take it with orange juice.

Some people purchase multivitamins that have over 100% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) so that they don’t develop deficiencies, but that doesn’t always work either. For example, vitamins B and C are both water-soluble. That means that they may just be excreted from your body before it’s able to use them.

Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat-soluble. So, if you get too much of them, your body will hold onto them. The good news is that you won’t get a deficiency, but the bad news is that you risk taking them to toxic levels, which is a whole different concern! So, knowing all of this, could you be deficient in some necessary vitamins and minerals?

AHMADIYYA COMMUNITY OPENS NEW INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS

0

The World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad delivered the keynote address at a special reception held to mark the opening of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s new headquarters in Islamabad, Tilford, UK.

The headquarters, including the beautifully designed Mubarak Mosque (The Blessed Mosque), administrative and residential complex was inaugurated earlier in the year on 17th May 2019.

In his keynote address to a gathering of over 300 guests, including Members of Parliament, Members of the House of Lords, Members of the Armed Forces, various other dignitaries and local residents and neighbours, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad began by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the guests in attendance and to the neighbours of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s new headquarters in Islamabad.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:“I wish to offer my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our neighbours and to all the local residents in this area, as well as to the local Council members who have shown immense generosity and proved that they are tolerant and open-minded by enabling us to redevelop this complex.”

His Holiness spoke about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s historical ties to the site and explained that the 25-acre site (now 33-acres) was purchased in 1985. The site had previously been used as a boarding school, which had closed

in 1977 and remained unused until the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community purchased and renamed the property as Islamabad

A key aspect of Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad’s address was to emphasise upon the importance of treating one’s neighbours in the most excellent fashion, as instructed by the Holy Quran.

Quoting an example from the Holy Quran, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“Chapter 4, verse 37 of the Holy Quran imposes a code of moral values which true Muslims must adopt and live their lives by and it guides them about how to interact with other members of society. Where on the one hand, the verse states that Muslims must worship Allah the Almighty alone and not associate any partners with Him, it also commands them to show compassion and love to all mankind.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“The verse then categorically states that Muslims must fulfil the rights of their neighbours, including those with whom they have personal relations and those with whom they do not. Fulfilling the rights of neighbours means that Muslims must treat their neighbours with grace and compassion and be ever ready to help them in their times of need and times of grief. It means to respect them and to hold them in the highest regard.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further elaborated upon who is meant by a ‘neighbour’ according to Islamic teachings.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“According to Islam, the definition of a neighbour is extremely far-reaching. The Founder of Islam, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stated that a person’s neighbours are not just those who live in the immediate vicinity but include at least the nearest 40 houses. In light of this, we consider all of the people living in this area and even those who may travel on the roads near this site as our neighbours.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad informed the audience that he had instructed Ahmadi Muslims to treat all local residents and neighbours of Islamabad with the utmost courtesy and respect at all times.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“It is incumbent upon all Ahmadi Muslims, whether they live here at Islamabad, whether they live locally or even if they just travel here to attend the prayers, to follow the laws, to be considerate at all times and to fulfil the rights of our wide circle of neighbours and to try to ensure that no distress or disturbance is ever caused to them.”

Leading by example, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad himself made a beautiful promise to the local residents and neighbours of the Islamabad site.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“I personally pledge that I will uphold and honour your rights and strive to care for all of you and I will continually urge the members of our Community to do the same.”

His Holiness explained that Muslims are instructed to fulfil the rights of God in the form of worship, but also to practically and pragmatically fulfil the rights of their fellow human beings as well.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“Allah the Almighty has commanded Muslims that it is not enough for them to merely worship in the Mosque but they must serve their local communities and constantly strive to help those who are in need. In fact, Allah the Almighty states that the prayers of those who fail in their duties to mankind are worthless and will never be accepted by Him.”

His Holiness spoke about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Mosques the world over and explained that wherever the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community builds mosques, serving humanity and the local community becomes an integral part of the Mosque and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s presence.

His Holiness outlined the humanitarian projects carried out, particularly in remote and impoverished parts of the world.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“We seek to feed the hungry and to aid those mired in poverty. We seek to provide inexpensive, and wherever possible free medical treatment to people who would otherwise have little or no access to healthcare. Thus, we have built many hospitals and established medical camps and clinics in Africa and other disadvantaged parts of the world.”

In addition to these initiatives, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad mentioned various educational and sustainability projects established by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and spoke of his own personal experiences as well.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“I have personally lived in Africa and so I have witnessed the intense levels of poverty and destitution of the local people first hand. I have seen school-aged children walking for miles on a daily basis with large vessels rested on their heads in search of water for their family use.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“Given the abject poverty they face and their desperate living standards, you cannot imagine the joy and excitement on the faces of those children and their families when we install pumps that provide them with clean and safe water from which they can drink and utilise for their domestic needs. You cannot imagine their sheer delight when they see water flowing from a tap at their doorsteps for the very first time.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad also made it unequivocally clear, that the humanitarian efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslims Community are fuelled solely by compassion and sincere love for humanity and desire no praise, reward or recompense in return.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“All of the humanitarian and relief services rendered by our Community are provided irrespective of religion or belief. It makes no difference if the people are Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Atheists or of any other faith or belief. Our only aspiration and motivation is to eradicate the suffering of innocent and defenceless people and to enable them to live their lives with dignity.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued:

“We seek no praise for this and nor do we restrict our assistance to certain people or groups. Thus, let it be clear that all of our efforts are rendered irrespective of caste, creed or colour. This is our mission. This is who we are. This is Islam.”

Speaking about the true and real meaning of ‘integration’ Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“Certainly, we have no desire to live an isolated existence, rather we desire to integrate and to be responsible citizens who serve and benefit the local community. Indeed, this is what I believe to be the definition of true integration – to be entirely loyal to your country of residence, to uphold the laws of the land, to serve your local community and to use whatever skills or capabilities you have for the betterment of your nation.”

Thanking the audience, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad ended his address with the following words:

“I am certain that you will come to see with your own eyes that this Mosque and Centre proves to be a glorious symbol of peace and service to mankind. It will prove a beacon of light illuminating the skies above with a spirit of love, mutual respect and compassion.”

Prior to the keynote address delivered by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the attendees heard from several speakers.

The National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, Rafiq Hayat delivered the welcome address and spoke about the purpose of mosques and the role they play in society:

“The mosques of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community wherever they may be play a crucial role in building cohesion and harmonious relationships with its local population. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community continues to play its part in the promotion of interfaith harmony.”

Guest speaker, former Attorney General, Dominic Grieve MP praised and thanked Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad for the work of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and for its efforts towards social harmony:

“The particular work, that you yourself have done, and indeed the community has done, the interfaith work and in trying to reduce extremism in all its forms is something which is much appreciated and which we all know the world we all live in so badly needs if human beings are to flourish.”

Mr Grieve continued:

“I hope that this place continues to radiate that love of humanity which is at the absolute core of the practice of Islam.”

Local Councillor, Keith Budden of East Hampshire said:

“It gives me a real pleasure Your Holiness to welcome you to Tilford and to have had an opportunity this afternoon to have a look around this fantastic site you have developed here, and especially the mosque. I think there are seldom occasions when you look at a building and it actually takes your breath away. But for me, the new mosque does and I think everyone should be congratulated on such a great achievement.”

AMIR ATTENDS OSUN POST RAMADHAN GRAND LECTURE

0

Dr. Mashhud Adenrele Fashola, the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria was a special guest of honour at the annual post-Ramadhan grand lecture organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization, Osun State held at Ansarudeen Central Mosque Ejigbo, Osun State.

His attendance at the programme was part of the itinerary of his one-day working visit to the State and was accompanied by the Naib Amir (Deputy National President) South West region Alhaji AbdulAzeez Alatoye, the General Secretary AMJN Alh Abbas Iromini and National Secretary for Agriculture Prof. Abdur Rahman Abdullah.

Delivering his lecture on the topic of the day titled: ” Contemporary Challenges and Its Impact on Human Development, ” the guest lecturer and the National Secretary for Tabligh (Preaching) AMJN Dr. Saheed Olurotimi Timehin highlighted some of the challenges hindering the growth and development of human race in the country. These include political challenges, economic challenges, moral and spiritual challenges as well as security challenges.

He traced the genesis of Nigeria’s problems to the forceful amalgamation of the two halves of the country- Northern and Southern protectorates in 1914 by the British. A decision he said, was taken by the Westerners to satisfy their selfish motives of improving their economic activities to the detriment of the indigenous people.

Dr. Timehin said the country is at the brink of total collapse due to the nonchalant attitudes and selfish interest of the government, and if necessary machinery is not put in place, aggrieved Nigerians may soon wage war against the government. He added that Nigerians are suffering and that the constitution only favors the looters and not the masses.

Way out of Bad Governance

According to him, one of the surest means of solving the contemporary problems affecting human development is for the government to provide good governance at all levels. That government must re-orientate and empower the youths, provide the basic amenities needed by all to survive. He also said there was an urgent need to review the constitution to correct some flaws it contained.

The senior lecturer of Arabic Studies at Lagos State University also urged all Muslims to understand and fear God Almighty and pray fervently for His intervention. Dr. Timehin further admonished youths not to be indolent and lazy. That youth must strive to be self-reliant and upgrade their status in their various professions.

Dr. Fashola, in his remarks, opined that the political process in Nigeria has been faulty ab initio hence the prevalence of bad governance in all government parastatals but believed the problem could be a nip in the bud with collective and sincere prayers. He also advised the government to expedite actions on improving the living standard of the populace.

ALHAJI OWOLABI DONATES MOSQUE TO AHMADIYYA

0

Alhaji Abbas Owolabi, the Branch President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Abuja has donated a newly built mosque to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The mosque is located at Oke Ayo Eleshinmeta, Aba Alamu, Apata, Ibadan.

The mosque, which was commissioned by the Amir (National President) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria Dr. Mashhud Adenrele Fashola is a modest one. It is measured 60 x 50m and can accommodate over 130 worshippers at once. The donor also donated a two-bedroom apartment to serve as a mission house for the missionary in charge of the mosque.

In a chat with our correspondent, Alhaji Owolabi disclosed that the donation was made in loving memory of his mother Alhaja Risikat Aduke Owolabi who passed away in 2016.

While thanking the Amir for the eventual commissioning of the project, Alhaji Owolabi commended the efforts of Jamaat members around the area in making the dream a reality and also appealed to them to make the area a full-fledged Jamaat where five daily prayers, as well as Jumaat prayers, will be observed.

In his first Friday sermon in the mosque, the Amir hailed the initiative of the Owolabi Family leading to the donation of the mosque and mission house to the Jamaat, adding that it was a move worthy of emulation going by the divine rewards attached to such act. He also requested worshippers to observe congregational prayers and relate among themselves with unity and harmony, and eschew bad feelings, hatred and evil acts.

He said: “Anyone who built mosque has a great reward from God Almighty. It is one of the good deeds we can leave behind in this world. Meanwhile, all mosques are owned by God. No one can claim ownership of a mosque. True believers are expected to worship in the new mosque. Don’t keep grudges among yourselves, kindly love one another and live with peace and harmony so that your prayers will be answered by God Almighty.”

“Members are requested to seek the pleasure of Allah alone, do not associate any partner with Him. Forgive whoever offends you and return evil deeds with goodness. Be a role model and emulate Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in all respect. Always strive to observe congregational prayers and never abandon the mosque.”

Courtesy Visits to Traditional and Religious Leaders

As part of his itinerary, Maulvi Afzaal Ahmad also paid courtesy visits to various Traditional and religious leaders in the places toured, among whom were the Olu of Ayegunle-Gbede, HRH, Oba Michael Oloruntimilehin Ayeni, the Obaro of Iyamoye, HRM, Oba Ibrahim Muhammad, the Chief Imam of Ayegunle-Gbede, Alhaji Musa Olorunkemi, Chief Imam of Ayetoro-Gbede, Alhaji Tiamiyu Arobani, and the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ayegunle-Gbede Branch, Reverend Ayepeku.

Receiving his eminence, the Olu of Ayegunle-Gbede was quick to commend Ahmadiyya for establishing Ahmadiyya Secondary School in his town years ago when there was none in the whole town. He, however, requested for further support of the Jamaat for the school, lamenting its current poor state, due to near-neglect by the successive Governments, in the aftermath of it’s taking over decades ago.

He further noted that members of Ahmadiyya donate from their income to sacrifice for the human community. He, therefore, urged the larger community to emulate practice and contribute towards their collective community development. He harped on community leadership and followership to uphold prudency, accountability, and transparency in the management of available resources, for, billions of aids have often come to the country from various foreign governmental and non-governmental donors but with little to show for their impactful utilization.

“Ahmadiyya Excels” – CAN President

The President of the Ayegunle-Gbede branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor expressed his appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of the common unity and brotherhood of humanity despite the difference in religions. He noted that there has been no religious crisis in Ayegunle-Gbede.

Speaking on Ahmadiyya, the revered Christian leader remarked, “Among all my Muslim friends, Ahmadiyya is a different group with a unique feature of truth and love. Ahmadiyya excels.”

Responding, Maulvi Afzaal Ahmad complimented, saying that Muslims and Christians have common grounds that unite than divide them, and for the Ahmadi Muslims who do not only believe in Jesus Christ of Nazareth (peace be upon him) but also in the advent of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), the adherents of the two religions are closer to each other still.

“Islam Has Come To Unite Us”

At the residence of the Chief Imam of Ayegunle-Gbede, Maulvi Afzaal Ahmad impressively stated that “No doubt, Islam has come to unite us. The Holy Prophet (saw) has said that ‘a Muslim is he from whose hands and tongues other Muslims are secured.’ This is the message to be spread everywhere; and because of this, we are moving around urging humanity to practice Islam in the best manner.”

Speaking further, he said, “Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat believes in one God, the Holy Prophet (saw) and the Promised Messiah (as) who came in fulfillment of the prophecies of the Holy Prophet of Islam”.

Furthermore, he urged the revered Imam, “You are responsible for building the faith of the people here. Having known Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat beliefs for long, it is incumbent on people, in line with the instruction of the Holy Prophet of Islam (saw), to convey his (the Holy Prophet’s) salaam (greeting of peace) to him (the Promised Messiah), even though it may be difficult. Concluding that, “As the Chief Imam, I humbly urged that we join in the effort of teaching the beautiful message of Islam”.

In his response, the Chief Imam expressed his gratitude to Ahmadiyya for the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Secondary School in Ayegunle-Gbede. He also acknowledged how, a few decades ago, he personally requested a prominent member of the Jamaat who was then a Federal Commissioner to exert his influence to ensure the then ongoing road construction is channeled through Ayegunle-Gbede Township, which he successfully facilitated.

The climax of his working visit was his meeting with the Naib Amir, North (Deputy National President for the North), Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Dr. Y.A.Habeeb Sahib and some of the members of the Executive Council of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Kogi Circuit. All roads led to Al-Azhar International College, Zango-Daji, Lokoja, Kogi State on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019, as its subsidiary School of Tahfizul Quran held a memorable graduation ceremony for eight (8) students who have completed the memorization of the entire Holy Quran to earn the honorific title of Huffazul Quran, as well as other 26 secular students who have completed the learning of the basic principles of the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The historic event, held at the ultra-modern multi-purpose hall of the School, was graced by high profile guests from all walks of life.

Speaking at the event, the retired university don, Alhaji Ahmed Sanusi who was the chairman of the occasion, lauded the vision of the proprietor of the School, Dr. Yaqeen Habeeb, for establishing such a multi-million citadel of learning that satisfies both the secular and religious educational yearnings of, particularly, Muslim students.

In his address, the eminent Proprietor, a retired top banker, revealed that the school has a mission to impact religious moral values in the students which are much needed in our contemporary corrupted society. Speaking further, the former APC’s Kogi Governorship Aspirant declared, “Al-Azhar has the mission to prepare its students for the highest Nobel Prize, as well as, to groom them to emerge as disciplined future leaders by choice and not by chance.”

A landmark development which guests at the event found interesting is the spectacular feat achieved by all the eight graduands.  The profile of each of them, as projected in a power-point presentation, revealed they had completed the memorization of the entire Holy Quran within the spans of between 17 to 21 months. This spectacular feat offers an interesting case of speedy memorization experiences that fast-tracked a 3-year course to a short span of a year and a half or two years at most. For this, the parents of the graduands could not but vote their thanks to the Tahfizul Quran system adopted by the School.

The climax of the event was the beautiful and melodious rendition of the Quranic verses by the graduands that elevated the audience to the high heaven of spiritual ecstasy and realization.

Speaking to The Truth correspondent, Muallim Ishaq Habeebullah who teaches Basic Quranic Recitation at the School said the programme affords secular students the opportunity to learn the Holy Quran along with their secular subjects.

It is worthy to note that the School officially commenced Tahfizul Quran school in April 2014 as a subsidiary to Al-Azhar International College, and has since rolled out tens of high-class memorizers of the Holy Quran. With qualified Tahfizul Quran facilitators and conducive environment for Quranic memorization, the School remains the best citadel for scintillating Tahfizul Quran experience.

Al-Azhar International College is the first Cambridge Associate School in Kogi State, offering educational services in Montessori Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools.
