The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaj Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali (Emugoriade I), the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom at the Oba’s palace in Igbogbo, Lagos State yesterday.
The Amir was accompanied by the Naib Amir (Deputy Head) Finance and Administration, Alhaj Mufadhil Bankole; the General Secretary, Alh. Abdul Jabar Ayelagbe; the Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria (Leader Elders’ Wing AMJN), Alhaj Dauda Abiola Raji; the National Welfare Secretary, Alhaj (Engr.) Musiliu Adesina Alli; the State Qai’d of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria (State Head of Youth Wing AMJN) Lagos, Comrade Saheed Adebayo; and members of Lajna Imaillah Nigeria (Female Wing AMJN).
The Amir conveyed greetings of peace and love and said the visit was to appreciate the king for his goodwill towards the Jama’at and the Igbogbo community.
He also explained that the Jama’at was in Igbogbo to inaugurate the National Emergency Response Hub Network, with hubs in Igbogbo (Lagos), Abuja and Port Harcourt, under the National Emergency Preparedness Committee (NEPC), following the guidance of the Supreme Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
He highlighted the Jama’at’s contributions to education, including Minaret University Ikirun (MUI) in Osun State and Masroor International Technical College (MITC) in Ilaro, Ogun State, which helps tackle youth joblessness. He invited the Oba to the forthcoming Jalsa Salana Nigeria in Ilaro, from 18th to 20th December 2026, and presented him with Jama’at literature.
The traditional ruler warmly welcomed the delegation, accepted the invitation and commended the Jama’at’s work in education, religious guidance and peace. He urged the Jama’at to take part in governance and policy making, and to help guide the youth away from immorality and hooliganism so they become useful citizens and ambassadors of peace.
The visit ended with a closing prayer led by the Amir.
