Amir AMJN Meets Supreme Head in the UK on Minaret University Project

The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, recently embarked on a short trip to the International Headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to meet with the Supreme Head of the organization, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V.
Accompanying the Amir were the Naib Amir Tabligh and Tajneed (Deputy National Head Incharge of Preaching and Census), Alhaji (Dr.) Latif Demola Busari and the Medical Director, Ahmadiyya Hospital Ojokoro, Dr. Sami Ullah Tahir.
The purpose of the visit centred around the progress report on the newly established Minaret University Ikirun, a faith-based University founded by Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
The University shall hold its maiden Matriculation Ceremony on Thursday, 30th April 2026 at the Multi-purpose Hall of the University..
The short trip to United Kingdom took place between Thursday, 2nd April and Sunday, 5th April 2026.
The Arabic Institute which officially kick-started academic activities in September 1st, 2024 was founded by the duo of Ustaz Abdul Rofeeq Alaka, the current leader of Ahmadiyya Youth Wing known as Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya and his twin brother Ustaz Abdur Roqeeb Alaka.
Ten (10) students including nine (9) males and a female commenced the academic activities two years ago and they all graduated successfully.
In his address, the Amir AMJN appreciated the initiative of the founders, adding that the importance of Arabic language across the globe cannot be over-emphasized.
He declared that Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria is on verge of establishing Arabic School in Ile-Ife, Osun State after successful establishment of Minaret University Ikirun, also in Osun State.
“May I use this medium to recognize and commend the brains behind the establishment of this great institute. This is a welcome development. This is the first Arabic Class to be founded Arabic within the Jama’at. The Jama’at has been planning to establish Arabic Class since 2015 or so and we are in the process of siting it in Ile-Ife after the successful establishment of Minaret University in Ikirun.”
“Arabic Language is very crucial to the Jama’at as a whole and all hands must be on deck to attain success on Ile-Ife Arabic Class project. We must ensure all our Hufaz (members who has memorized the whole Qur’an) speak Arabic Language fluently,” the Amir submitted.
While addressing the attendees, Ustaz Abdur Rofeeq Alaka disclosed that the school management’s wish is to make it a two-year National Diploma program with an affiliation to higher institutions of learning whereby graduates from the Arabic institute will be given consideration for admission into 200 level upward.
Out of the ten (10) graduating students, four (4) of them had Distinctions; four (4) students had Upper Credits; and the remaining two students graduated with a Credit Pass.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include: the Naib Amir (Deputy National Head) AMJN, Alhaji Mufadhil Bankole; the Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria (Leader, Male Elders Forum AMJN), Alhaji Dauda Raji; the General Secretary AMJN, Alhaji Ayelagbe Jabar; Coordinator Ahmadiyya School of Quranic Memorization, Hafiz Muslihudeen Opayemi; and Senior Missionary AMJN who doubles as the father of the founders, Alhaji Mudathir Alaka.
