All roads lead to Morakinyo Village in Iddo Local Government Area, Oyo State today as the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez inaugurated Masjid Fazl, a newly built first ever mosque in the village.
The mosque was constructed and donated by the grand daughters of Late Hazrat Nadir Malik Khan Sahib (ra), a companion of the Promised Messiah (as) who took Baiat in Africa in 1897.
Siting the mosque in Morakinyo Village is not only a landmark achievement but a historic initiative, capping the successful Tabligh (Preaching) expeditions of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community which were orchestrated and spearheaded by notable missionaries and members of Coca Cola branch of the Muslim organisation.
Delivering his speech at the event, the Amir commended the efforts of members who are the brains behind the successful preaching expedition leading to the donation of landed property to Ahmadiyya community to contruct the mosque.
He enjoined members not to relent in their efforts towards the preaching activities which always attract more converts into Ahmadiyya fold, adding that members’ good conduct and characters would automatically qualify them as role models in the hearts of non members.
Alh. Alatoye also admonished members to uphold the sanctity of mosque, being a sacred place of worship, noting that offering of prayers and holding of Taleem (Education) Classes must be adopted as the most critical activities in the mosque.
The Village Chief Pa Rafiu Olasunmade expressed his gratitude to the Ahmadiyya Community for building the mosque in the area, which according to him, will serve dual purpose of worshipping Allah and training their wards the basic tenets of Islam.
Among the dignitaries that attended the mosque commissioning are: the Naib Amir (Deputy National Head) Finance and Administration Alh. Mufadhil Bankole; the General Secretary AMJN Alh. Ayelagbe Abdul Jabar; National Jaidad (Properties) Secretary Bldr. Bashirdeen Towolawi; and Incharge Raqeem Press Nigeria Maulvi Wajih Ullah.
