Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria Celebrates the Graduation of 16 Missionaries at 2026 Convocation

Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria awarded degrees to 16 new missionaries during its annual convocation ceremony on Saturday, June 27, 2026, held at the Baitun Nasir Mosque.
The event, which marked the close of the 2025/2026 academic session, was chaired by the Amir Sahib, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Folorunso Alatoye. Other notable guests included Missionary-in-Charge Maulana Adnan Tahir, national executive members from auxiliary bodies—Majlis Ansarullah, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, and Lajna Imaillah—as well as representatives from Ahmadiyya Science College, Ilaro, the Hafiz Class, and Masroor International Technical College.
In his keynote address, Amir sahib urged the graduates to uphold the Jama’at’s administrative system (Nizame Jama’at) and serve as faithful representatives of the Khalifah. He explicitly condemned the commercialization of religious practices, warning against the monetization of prayers and Istikhara. He also advised the missionaries to resist materialism, maintain punctuality in congregational prayers, and embody modesty and contentment.
Presenting the annual report, Principal sahib, Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria, Hafiz Syed Shahid Ahmed highlighted the institution’s academic and outreach achievements. He recalled the guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) at the Jamia UK convocation in May 2026, reminding the class that life-devotion requires a 24-hour commitment to service and sustained study of the Holy Quran and the writings of the Promised Messiah (as).
Key accomplishments over the year included successful Ramadan outreach programs and peace walks in surrounding communities, a third-place finish for Jamia Muqam in the national ranking of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN), two students securing the top two positions in the MKAN National Examinations, and multiple student publications in international journals, including Al-Hakam.
In his own remarks, the Respected Missionary in Charge, Maulana Adnan Tahoe sahib, advised the students to remain humble and Exemplary. He reiterated to them that they should not think their personal issues are personal to them, rather a lot of people would be looking up to them. They should thereby be responsible.
The Sadran of the auxiliary bodies (Majlis khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Majlis Ansarullah and Lajna Imaillah) all delivered goodwill messages, encouraging the graduates to serve as compassionate ambassadors of peace. The ceremony also included a prize distribution for academic, sports, and literary competitions. The program ended by closing remarks from the Amir and a silent prayer.
