The Masjid Mubarak and Mission House at Idoko Aledo, Ijebu Imusin, Ogun State, have been recommissioned with a call on members of the Jama’at to remain steadfast in the practice of Islam and promote peace, justice and harmonious coexistence in society.
The recommissioning ceremony was led by the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, who was accompanied by the Secretary, Jaidad (Property) Builder Towolawi Bashirudeen, the Vice Chancellor of Minaret University Ikirun Prof. AbdurRahman Abdullah and few other members of the National Executives.
The event was also attended by Baale Ambassador Adekunle Adegbesan, who represented His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Stephen Adedeji Onafowokan (Ojafogbo II), Oloko of Ijebu Imusin, as well as the Chief Imam, members of the Jama’at and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Amir expressed gratitude to Allah for the reopening and recommissioning of the mosque and Mission House, while praying that the place of worship would never again be closed.
He urged members of the Jama’at to ensure that the recommissioning marked not merely the reopening of a physical structure but a renewed commitment to the teachings and principles of Islam.
The Amir called on the members to live by the commandments of the Holy Qur’an and to consistently practise the six ways of life regularly highlighted during the Friday Khutba thani.
He said Muslims must strive for justice and equity, kindness to kin and kindred, while avoiding deceit, lies and actions capable of causing commotion, rancour or discord in society.
According to him, the Khutba thani serves as a constant reminder of the standard of conduct expected of a Muslim, stressing that the teachings of Islam should be reflected not only in worship but also in the way Muslims relate with one another and with members of the wider society.
The Amir further called on the Jama’at to remain exemplary in their dealings with the community, noting that the continued existence and acceptance of the mosque depended largely on the peaceful and responsible conduct of its members.
In his remarks, Baale Ambassador Adekunle Adegbesan commended the Amir and members of the Jama’at for their commitment to peace.
The Baale said the Amir had demonstrated through his conduct what he described as the true teaching of Islam, peace and peaceful coexistence.
He described the Amir as a peace-loving leader and expressed satisfaction with the relationship between the Jama’at and the wider community.
According to him, members of the Jama’at had consistently demonstrated their commitment to peace in the community, adding that their conduct had contributed positively to harmonious coexistence.
He appreciated the Amir for his leadership and urged members of the Jama’at to sustain the peaceful disposition for which they had become known.
The Chief Imam also commended the Jama’at and the Amir for their commitment to the cause of Islam.
He said he could see in the Amir what he described as the true embodiment of Islamic teachings, particularly in his disposition towards peace, service and the propagation of the faith.
The Chief Imam prayed that Allah would strengthen the Amir, protect him and continue to guide him in the course of his service to Allah and humanity.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for the Amir to remember and pray for the late Pa. Kamorudeen Adetola Kareem, who, according to the Amir, played a significant role in ensuring that the mosque was established on its present location.
The Amir sought prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to accept the mosque and its continued use for the worship and service of Allah as Sadaqatul Jariyah on his behalf.
He prayed that Allah would reward the late Pa. Kareem for his contribution to the establishment of the place of worship and grant him eternal reward.
The recommissioning ceremony concluded with prayers for the continued peace, unity and spiritual growth of the Jama’at, as well as peace and prosperity for the people of Idoko Aledo, Ijebu Imusin and Ogun State at large.
